  • Second sentence: support claim with evidence
  • Third sentence: restate claim or build off claim to introduce a new claim
  • Example:
    
    1. Bill Russell is the greatest NBA player of all-time.
    2. NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal once stated, “Russell is the most successful and winningest player ever. He won 11 championships in his 13 years as a player.”
    3. While Russell is the winningest player of all-time, he is not the greatest score of all-time; that distinction belongs to Lebron James.
